LINDA MAE REIDLER

Linda Mae Reidler, 81 died in her home surrounded by family on 7 September 2026 following a courageous 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Linda was born 19 April 1945 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the youngest of 9 children of George Joseph and Elsie Elizabeth (Dodds) Hoke from Rausch Creek, Tremont Township, Pennsylvania.
Linda was a 1963 graduate of the former Tremont High School. She was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church, Tremont, Pennsylvania.
Linda will be deeply missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was an avid reader of three to four books a week. Her home library overflowed with books. She always kept her Kindle at hand to read electronic books on the go.
Linda loved and collected pewter figurines, crafted many beautiful Afghans, and created many delicious family meal recipes.
Linda greeted all family, friends, and guests with a welcome smile and will always be remembered for her home cooked meals and delicious desserts.
Her husband, Retired Lt Col Harold Reidler, with whom she would have celebrated 63 years of marriage in November, survives at home. Linda joined Harold in military assignments to France, Japan, and Oregon, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Maine and here in Missouri. Linda didn’t just support her husband in his military career, she pursued her own 31- year civil service career filled with numerous top administrator awards, and retired in 2005, in her last position as secretary to the Commander 442nd maintenance squadron, Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
In retirement Linda again provided tremendous support and management of the family beekeeping business. She especially enjoyed selling their products at the Holden farmer’s market.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by sons Jeffrey L Reidler Sr (Maureen) and Dean B Reidler, both of Omaha Nebraska. Grandsons Bobby Cole (Christine) Colo Springs Co, Jeffrey L Reidler Jr (Kimberly), and Alexander Reidler (Tiffany) both of Harrison Arkansas, Dylan Reidler (friend Amanda) and Gabriel Reidler of Omaha Nebraska. Granddaughters Monique Reidler and Katherine Reidler both of Omaha Nebraska and Step Granddaughter Amanda Anderson, Murray, Nebraska. Eight Great Grandchildren, Three step Great Grandchildren, Sisters-in-Law Carol Witmer, Fontaine Fisher, Deborah Derr, Elizabeth Wolff, of Pennsylvania, and Minnie Lucas of Maryland. Brothers-in-Law Randall Scott Reidler and John Craig Reidler of Pennsylvania, and many nephews and nieces, her best friend and sister Sandra Simpson, Quapaw Oklahoma and close friends; Sachi Scott, Toni Wood, Shelia Pylate and Brigitte Jaeger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by great granddaughter Jaycarlee M. Christie, father and mother-in-law Harold Sr and Emma Reidler; brothers Warren, James, Donald and Joe Hoke; sisters Minnie Neidlinger, Esther Bixler, and Judith Thomason-Lane; brothers-in-law Orville Neidlinger, Wilbur Simpson, Carl Bixler, Douglas Thomason, Kenneth Witmer Jr, Roy G Lucas, Joseph Ellinger and Joey Fisher; sister-in-law Gloria Reidler Ellinger and her beloved Main Coon cat Maggie.
At Linda’s request, there will be no viewing, and she will be cremated.
Interment will be held with close family at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri, at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in care of the funeral home to the Johnson County Cancer Foundation in Memory of Linda Mae Reidler.
