Philip (Tony) Anthony Lagud

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Philip (Tony) Anthony Lagud on April 17, 2025, at the age of 52. Tony passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Tony was the eldest son of Philip and Joyce Lagud.

He was a proud graduate of Kingsville High School, Class of 1990, and later earned his MCE from Stanford Brown.

Tony served honorably in the Army Reserves, demonstrating his commitment to duty and discipline.

Professionally, Tony was passionate about technology. He worked for many years in IT, including at UMC and the KU Southlake Campus, where his expertise, problem-solving skills, and infectious sense of humor made him a cherished colleague.

Outside of work, Tony’s love for technology extended to building computers and exploring digital worlds such as World of Warcraft, Star Wars, and Valheim, where his creativity thrived.

Tony was also a gifted writer and visual artist, creating short stories and intricate drawings that showcased his sharp wit and unique perspective. His dry, sarcastic humor was a hallmark of his bold spirit.

A devoted husband, Tony shared 32 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Loveta Ruth Lagud. Together, they built a strong foundation of love and shared two wonderful sons, Logan Lagud and Adam Lagud.

Adam also lost his battle to cancer in 2017, at the age of 23, and Tony was really inspired by his strength and peace.

Tony also leaves behind his family that loved him dearly, including his parents, Philip and Joyce Lagud; his brother, Christopher Lagud; Nieces: Lacey Foster, Vega Lagud; Nephews: Christopher Lagud Jr., Joseph Lagud; as well as countless cousins, friends, and his beloved cat, Gene (Bubba) who was his best friend.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2025 at Heart of God Fellowship in Buckner. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service .

Tony’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all who offered their love, prayers, and support during his final days. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, humor, and the impact he had on everyone lucky enough to know him.
