Patricia A. Hampton Bradbury

Patricia A. Hampton Bradbury of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, went Home on July 16, 2026.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of her church, Pat lived a life centered on faith, family, and helping others.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 9, 1943, to Lelan Green and Lawrence Hampton.

Pat attended Holden High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.

After moving to Bradenton, Florida, in 1976, she attended Manatee Community College while working at Ellis Bank for two years as she earned her real estate license. She began her real estate career selling beachfront condominiums for developers before transitioning to selling farmland and citrus groves, which she truly loved.

Pat lived in Florida for 21 years before moving to Seneca, South Carolina, on Lake Keowee. She and Claude later built a home in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, on Lake Norman, then built another home after moving to Lexington, South Carolina. In 2013, they returned home to Missouri and settled in Pleasant Hill.

Pat was always active in her church, Community of Christ. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Skylarks, and Orioles, and faithfully supported all of her children’s activities. She was called to the office of Priest in her church and loved serving others.

After retiring, she enjoyed gardening, baking, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

In 1958, Pat married Claude A. Bradbury. Together they had three children: Peggy Marie Couch of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Debra Ann Selz of Holden, Missouri; and Michael Alan Bradbury of Bradenton, Florida.

Pat and Claude celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 17, 2023, just two days before Claude passed away on May 19, 2023.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Peggy Couch of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; her four grandchildren, Daniel Couch of Pleasant Hill, Zachary Selz of Pleasant Hill, Madelyn Grace Bradbury and Micah Thomas Bradbury of Bradenton, Florida; and Wyatt Murdock of Wisconsin, Mike’s stepson.

She is also survived by her two sisters, Loraine Rhoades of Holden, Missouri, and Nancy Jennings (George) of Holden, Missouri; her nephews, David Rhoades, Jeff (Laura) Rhoades, Jasen (Melissa) Jennings, and Cody Jennings; her niece, Marie Jennings of Holden; as well as many cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, dear friends, and her church family.

Pat was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Hampton; her mother, Lelan Hampton-Irvine; her beloved stepfather, David Irvine; her sister, Penny Lynn Irvine; her daughter, Debra Ann Selz; her son, Michael Alan Bradbury; her grandson, Baby Levi Bradbury; and her husband, Claude A. Bradbury, in May 2023.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holden Community of Christ or Pleasant Hill Community of Christ churches. Services will be planned at a later date.
