Frances Lorraine Lattimer McCloud

Frances Lorraine Lattimer McCloud, age 89, of Kingsville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was born on Friday, November 6, 1936, in Santa Barbara, California, to the late Russell Calvin Lattimer and Martha Katherine (Morris) Lattimer.

In 1951, when Lorraine was 15 years old, her family relocated to Holden, Missouri. She graduated from Kingsville High School in 1955.

Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Earl “Gene” Eugene McCloud, on June 3, 1955. Together they shared 71 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, faith, and cherished memories while raising four children – three sons and one daughter.

Lorraine enjoyed a long and successful career at F&C Bank in Kingsville, where she served as the bank manager for many years before retiring in 1991.

A devoted member of Kingsville Baptist Church, Lorraine faithfully served as the church secretary for several years. She was also a proud member of Sweet Adelines singing group, as music and singing were among her greatest passions.

In addition, she enjoyed being active in the Red Hat Society. Lorraine found joy in painting, baking, and expressing her creativity. One of her favorite traditions was hand-making Christmas cards she lovingly sent to family and friends each year.

Above all else, she treasured her family and cherished every moment spent with them.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Martha Lattimer; her son, Rusty McCloud, who passed away in July 2013; and her daughter, Georgia Katherine McCloud who passed away at birth.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Earl “Gene” McCloud, of the home; her sons, Andy McCloud and wife, Jackie, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Chris McCloud and wife, Cindy, of Kingsville, Missouri; her daughter, Jennifer Rice and husband, Jerry, of Kingsville, Missouri; her brother, Martin Lattimer and wife, Marilyn, of Leavenworth, Kansas; her sister, Gail Riffle of Harrisonville, Missouri; her grandchildren, Christy O’Roark (Shawn), Jill Velasquez, Kelcey Hughes (Zack), Kyndal Edington (Dusty), and McKenna Rice (Matthew); and her great- grandchildren, Aaron O’Roark (Katie), Aiden O’Roark, Avery Mertz, Luke Mertz, Jonathan Velasquez, Addison McCloud, Emma McCloud, Tyler Hughes, Jaxson Cornwell, Conner Hughes, and Kennedy Nesbitt.

Visitation was held at Kingsville Baptist Church on Monday, July 20, 2026. The funeral service followed at the church.
