Darrel Dee Taylor

Darrel Dee Taylor, age 93, of rural Kingsville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was born on Tuesday, July 19, 1932, in Quinter, Kansas, to the late Elva and Pauline (Brusch) Taylor.

Darrel began his working career at the age of 15, farming in Iowa. A few years later, he was drafted into the United States Army. Following his military service, he moved to Missouri, where he worked in a factory, drove a milk truck, and was employed in a small engine repair shop. He later began a long career with Stahl Specialty Company in Kingsville, Missouri, where he remained until his retirement in 1990.

A devoted member of Forest Grove Baptist Church, Darrel faithfully attended services and enjoyed serving in many areas of church life. He found great satisfaction in working with his hands and could repair just about anything. He especially enjoyed cutting firewood and took great pride in caring for and maintaining his property. Known for his warm smile and kind spirit, Darrel was happiest when surrounded by his family, whom he loved dearly.

Darrel was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lillian Taylor; his parents; five sisters, Dorothy Grah, Lois Stuart, Margie Moody, Hazel Doxey, and infant sister Darlene Taylor; two brothers, Dale Taylor and Ray Taylor; grandsons Brian McCurdy and Brandon McCurdy; infant granddaughter Sherri Ann Taylor; and infant grandson Troy James Taylor.

He is survived by his three sons, Terry Taylor (Emily), Jerry Taylor, and Gary Taylor (Edie); two daughters, Toni Bradley (Mike) and Donna McCurdy (Darrell); one sister, Sharon Gilchrist; two brothers, Dwayne Taylor and Dan Taylor; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many friends who will cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m,. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will be at Elm Spring Cemetery in Kingsville, Missouri.
