Warren LaRue Ferris

Warren LaRue Ferris, 91, of Holden, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

He was born on Saturday, August 12, 1933, in Independence, Missouri, to the late Warren Ferris and Olive (Wick) Ferris.

He was a proud graduate of Holden High School, class of 1951. Warren went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

On February 26, 1973, he married the love of his life, Peggy Sue Belew, in Centerview, Missouri.

Following his military service, Warren worked as an engineer for Stahl’s Specialty Company, where he remained until his retirement in 1994.

He was a man of many talents and passions. A skilled woodworker, Warren built and restored violins, refurbished furniture for his and Peggy’s antique shop, and was always working on something with his hands.

He had a deep love for nature. He spent countless hours outdoors caring for his yard, hunting, fishing, and enjoying his land, which he affectionately called “The Big 18.” There, he built a teepee and found joy in camping and solitude.

Warren was rarely seen without his signature pipe and was known for crafting his own tools and weapons, which was a true testament to his creativity and intellect.

Warren is survived by his son, Chris Bush; grandsons, Jeremy Curtis, Josh Curtis, Adam Bush, Ryan Bush, and Zach Bush; sister, Caroline Roberts; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Olive Ferris; his beloved wife, Peggy Ferris; son, Kelly Bush; daughters, Monic Browning and Renee Curtis; brother, Albert Ferris; sister, Edna Connell and granddaughter, Shelby Green.
