David Ray Watson

David Ray Watson, 60, of Kingsville Mo. passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg,  Mo.

He was the fourth child of six in a blended  family of Felton Ray Watson and Deloris (Dee) Ilene Watson.

He is proceeded in death by father Ray, mother Dee, and brothers Sidney Hurt, and Terry Hurt.

David’s surviving siblings are sisters: Maurita McCarty, Shelli Gustin, and Kim Watson.

Also surviving are his children, Chris Watson, and Serea Cayton, and one granddaughter Sydney.

David was a true man of faith, never wavering in his love and trust of God until the very last breath. He loved to talk about his beliefs to all who would listen. David believed church was everywhere and one of his favorite places to commune with the Lord was the stream bank. He spent many, many hours fishing, this was his favorite pastime.

As a younger man, David had a pure talent for playing any musical instrument, eventually choosing the banjo as his favorite.  He played in both bluegrass and gospel bands for many years.

In later years, David enjoyed picking of another kind. He was the ultimate treasure hunter. David traveled around the surrounding areas looking for great bargains to pass along to others. David will be greatly missed.
