Lyle Eugene Quick

Lyle Eugene Quick, 87 of Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, March 28, 2025.

Lyle was born November 17, 1937 on the family farm near Quick City, the son of Ross Raymond Quick and Annie Melissa (Riffle) Quick.

He was raised in Quick City and graduated from Holden High School, Class of 55.

On August 18, 1956, Lyle was united in marriage to Landa Lea Manford in Holden. The couple made their home on the family farm near Quick City.

He was a lifelong crop and livestock farmer. Lyle was an active member of Quick City Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities. Later, he and Landa became members of the Holden Christian Church.

He was on the Holden School Board for 12 years and he was a longtime member of Missouri Pork Producers. He also served on the University of Missouri Extension Council in the early 70s and he was on the Board of Directors at Holden Bank for many years.

Survivors include his son: Layne Quick (Joyce) of Lone Jack, MO; two daughters: Lark Holsey of Holden, MO and Leslyn Brouillette Marinan (Tom) of Lake Winnebago, MO; seven grandchildren: Hillary Woodhurst (Shelton); Caroline Quick; Melodee Taylor (Dennis); Holly Holsey, Dennis Holsey (Jamie); Andrew Brouillette and Jackson Brouillette; eight great grandchildren: Blake Woodhurst, Logan Woodhurst, Megan Taylor, Allison Holsey, Dylan Taylor, Zack Holsey, Zayne Holsey; Scottie Schroeder; a great-great granddaughter: Abigayle Lyndell; his grand dog: Lou; sisters-in-law: Becky Carlson (Dale); Stacy Barnett (Ed); brothers-in-law: C.W. Manford, Jr; Mark Manford (Cindy); and numerous nieces and nephews including: Pam Boike (Brent); Patty Wildung (Dean); Ron Sigdahl (Cindy); Gary Sigdahl ( Jackie); Eric Carlson (Tracy); Joe Manford (Melissa); Justin Manford (Jen); Danny Keating; and Kaitlin Bush (Zach).

Lyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Landa; son-in-law: Dennis Holsey; sister: Margaret Jo Sigdahl (Don); and infant niece: Deborah Sigdahl.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Pastor Tim Whitmore officiating.

Pallbearers are Dennis Holsey, Dennis Taylor, Dylan, Taylor, Shelton Woodhurst, Andrew Brouillette and Jackson Brouillette.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Raker, Leland Stowell, Tommy Clark, Jerry Odle, Jeanne Page Hughes, Dennis Page, David Page, Larry Quick, Milton Meyers, Jesse Higgins and Ron Carneal.

Interment will follow at Medford Cemetery, south of Holden.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Williams.
