Thomas Dale Nichols

Thomas Dale Nichols, 78 of Kingsville, MO passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Tom was born on December 9, 1946, to David Nichols and Norma Babylon Nichols.

He grew up in Gunn City, MO, and graduated from Harrisonville High School.

Tom served in the Air Force Reserves for 6 years.

On July 22, 1966, he married Shirley Jean Steward. The couple had been married for 58 years.

They were parents to one daughter Angie Nichols (Tom Camp). They had two grandchildren: Wyatt Collens and Laci Collens, in addition to 2 step-grandchildren: Savanna Camp and Tucker Camp. One sister, Gayle Frazer, Broken Arrow Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom owned Nichols Gas & Oil for 11 years and then went on to own Tom’s Gravel Hauling for 25 years, meeting and enjoying his many customers.

Tom always enjoyed his horses, going to many shows and fairs while making many cherished friends along the way. He spent the majority of his life training horses for competition. He was dedicated to not only competing himself but also helping and teaching others.

He was so proud of his grandkids, and he enjoyed following them to games in every sport, never missing special moments in their lives.

Shirley and Tom had a great life together and greatly enjoyed time spent with their family and friends.

Funeral Services were Saturday, March 22, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden, with interment following at Hornsby Cemetery, located southwest of Kingsville.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hornsby Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.
