Louis William Orr

Louis William Orr 85, of Holden, Missouri passed away at Research Medical Center January 20, 2025.

Louis was born in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, February 17, 1939, to the late Louis M. Orr and Frances Wangler Orr.
He attended East High School in Kansas City MO.

Louis left school at the age of 17 to work as a bricklayer with his dad who taught him the trade.

He was inducted into Bricklayer Union Local #4 in November 1956. He worked as a bricklayer for over 50 years until his retirement at age of 67.

Louis was blessed with two sons, Louis Patrick Orr and Timothy Dwayne Orr.

Louis was an outdoorsman who like to hunt and fish. His favorite shows to watch on television were westerns. He was a quiet guy who liked spending time with family but also liked having his “alone” time as well.

He enjoyed Sunday dinners at his parents’ house when everyone was younger. Louis was a very kind, caring and a generous man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Louis M. and Frances Orr, his son Louis Patrick Orr; brother in-law David Anderson; two infant sisters.

Surviving his passing are his son, Timothy Dwayne Orr of Farmington, MO; brother, Dale Orr and wife Jessica of Independence, MO; two sisters, Marilyn Morris and partner Jerry McKellips of Pleasant Hill, MO, Peggy Anderson of Overland Park, KS.; five grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew; nine great nieces and nephews, along with many cousins, extended family and friends.

The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home 407 S. Pine St. Holden, MO with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be in the Holden Cemetery in Holden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Old Drum Animal Shelter 35 SW 101st Rd. Warrensburg, MO 64093, in his memory.
