Russell Gene Jennings

Russell Gene Jennings, 68, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at his home in Holden, Missouri.

He was born Wednesday, May 09, 1956, in Holden, MO, the son of Wilbur and Anna (Hall) Jennings.

He was a 1974 graduate of Holden High School and later he went on to receive his associate’s degree in computer technology.

On April 08, 1978, he married the love of his life Susan (Kendrick) Jennings and together they had two children, Luke and Renae.

Over the years, he worked as a farmer raising row crops and cows all of his life.

Russell was a man with many interests; he loved watching sports on television, watching western shows, going mushroom hunting and gardening as a pastime.

Russell was a very social person and never sat still for very long. He liked to pitch horseshoes and competed in pool leagues two to three times a week. Russell was a very hands-on person who enjoyed time with his family and grandkids. He was always at their basketball games. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his children; son, Luke Jennings and wife Holly of Warrensburg, MO, daughter, Renae Jennings and companion Micah Guyton of Kansas City, MO; companion, Kim McMullin; brother, Wilbur “Willie” Jennings and wife Diana of Holden, MO; sisters, Ruth Hancock of Belton, MO, and Sharon Quick and husband Larry of Centerview, MO; grandchildren, Brady and Macy Jennings of Warrensburg, MO; nieces, Vicky, Katey, Carolyn, Anna, Emily and Grace; nephews, Daryl, David, Jeff, Tyler, Hayden, Sam and Lane.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Kendrick) Jennings; parents, Wilbur and Anna (Hall) Jennings; brother, Howard Lee Jennings; and sisters, Gwen Gudde, and Mary Ann Jennings.

The family will receive family and friends Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Holden Community Activity Center at 100 S. Market St. in Holden, MO with a memorial service to follow with Pastor John Kendrick officiating.
