Glenn Kelly Thomason

Glenn Kelly Thomason, 85 of Holden, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Holden Manor Care Center in Holden, Missouri.

Glenn was born Tuesday, November 7, 1939, in Holden, Missouri, to the late Francis Thomason and the late Dorothy (Whiteman) Thomason.

Glenn was a graduate of Holden High School, class of 1956.

On March 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Deloris Aldridge Thomason, she preceded him in death on April 29, 2018. Glenn and Deloris had one son, Brian G. Thomason in 1962, he preceded Glenn in death in 2009.

Glenn was known to most as the guy who always drove the Blue Ford F-350 Flatbed truck in town. Glenn worked at Lawler’s Service Station after graduation, followed by a maintenance job at UMKC, and moving houses for Aaron Hough.

He then went to work for Glenn Stahl in Kingsville, before starting his own trucking company. Glenn did custom hauling, including hauling show horses all over the United States and Canada. Glenn hauled grain for local farmers in and around the county up until his retirement.

Glenn enjoyed tinkering, he was patient and skilled in many areas. Glenn looked forward to trips to Colorado with friends from Holden to go elk and deer hunting. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and restoration work on cars, trucks, mostly Ford’s and tractors alike.
Glenn and Deloris enjoyed traveling and researching their genealogy.

Glenn was a pretty quiet man who kept mainly to himself. Glenn was quite content and just enjoyed living life to the fullest. Glenn served on the Bear Creek Cemetery Association and was a lifelong resident and friend of the Holden community.

Glenn will be missed by all those who knew his loving and caring personality.

Surviving his passing are his niece and nephews. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; Francis Thomason and Dorothy (Whiteman) Thomason, his wife; Deloris (Aldridge) Thomason and his son; Brian Thomason.

The family received friends at the Campbell Cast Funeral Home Monday, January 20, 2025, with the funeral service following. Pastor Michael Wakeman officiated. A private burial will occur in Holden Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bear Creek Cemetery, 915 SW 1201st Rd, Holden, MO 64040, in his memory.
