Shirley Canaday McGeary

Shirley Canaday McGeary, 89, of Roeland Park, KS passed away at the home of her daughter in Lawrence, KS with family by her side.

A private graveside service was held on September 17, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holden, MO. The family gathered after at the Cowboy Inn and reminisced about what life must have been like for her all those years ago in her beloved home town.

Shirley was raised and lived in Holden where her parents owned and operated the Canaday & Ropp Funeral Home.

She attended Holden High and was a member of St. Patrick church. She moved to Leavenworth, KS to attend college at St. Mary College and graduated in ’57. After, she moved permanently to Kansas City where she was married and raised her family.
