Daniel (Danny) Jones

Daniel (Danny) Jones 61 of Oak Grove, Missouri formerly of Holden Missouri passed away Friday August 30, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Danny was born January 6, 1963 at Moreland Hospital in Holden to Thomas (Tom) and Jo Ellen (Thompson) Jones. He was raised and went to school in Holden. Danny at a young age worked at Park Seed Company (like his father and grandfather) for years.
He started laying carpet with Butch Hammond in the early 1980’s (he taught him the trade). In the early 2000’s he joined the carpet layers union. He worked for Sommers Company from 2019 until he got sick in 2023.
Danny enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed playing music (he was a drummer) with his friends and was in a few bands. On Saturday night he would listen to Rodney Yates on the radio.
Danny cherished his time with his children and grandchildren and other family members. Danny was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law and a friend to all.
Danny married Monica (Gunn) on July 2, 1983 in Holden. To this marriage one daughter was born Stephine Nicole Jones.
Danny is survived by his wife of 41 years Monica of the home; son, Jeremy (Angela) of Bates City, Missouri; and daughter Nicole of Oak Grove, Missouri; four sisters Dana Tinney, Julie Fields, and Bobbie (Greg) Jones all of Holden; and Tracy (Mitch) Duffey of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
He is also survived by his in-laws, father-in-law Billy Gunn of Garden City, Missouri; brother in-law Jeff Gunn, of Blue Springs; and two sister-in -laws, Brenda Brumbaugh of Kingsville, Missouri and Mona (Tom) Pirch of Grain Valley; seven grandchildren also survived: Danny Alyssa, Isaac, Graham, Destiny, Zavier, Zayden and Avery; one Aunt Judy, (Denver) Wood of Holden; and many nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by His parents Tom and Jo Ellen Jones, mother-in-Law Bonnie Gunn; brother-in-laws Pat Tinney, Karl Gunn, and B.J. Fields; and one great-granddaughter Gracelynn.
Pallbearers were: Brandon Jones, Kyle Fields, Jeff McIntyre, Marty Powell, Wes Powell and Jeremy Reinbold. Honorary pallbearers were: Butch Hammond, Mitch Duffey, Greg Jones, Jeff Gunn, Tom Pirch and Christopher Gunn.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 7, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with interment following at Carpenter Cemetery near Chilhowee, Missouri.
The family received friends one hour prior to service.
