Lady Eagles Draw Third Seed In Cougar Classic

The Holden girls basketball team has drawn the third seed in the F&C Bank Cougar Classic Tournament at Crest Ridge High School with tournament games being played from Monday, January 22 through Saturday, Jan. 27.

The Holden girls will face off against No. 6 seed Sherwood in first-round play on Monday, January 22 at 8:45 p.m.

With a win, the Holden girls basketball team will play on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 5:45 p.m. against the winner of the first-round game between No. 2 seed Leeton and No. 7 seed Lexington. A first-round loss for Holden would put the Lady Eagles up against the loser between Leeton and Lexington on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Other first-round games to be played on Monday, Jan. 22 include No. 1 seed Concordia against No. 8 seed Lutheran (KC) at 4:30 p.m., and No. 4 seed Knob Noster taking on No. 5 seed Crest Ridge at 5:45.

All girls semifinal games in the Cougar Classic will be played on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The girls consolation and seventh-place games will be played on Friday, Jan. 26. The seventh-place game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. The consolation game is set to be played at 7:15 p.m.

First-place and third-place games on the girls bracket will be played on Saturday, Jan. 27 with the third-place game starting at 1 p.m., and the first-place game scheduled to start at 4.
