Holden Girls Basketball Postseason Awards Include District POY Addy Campbell
Postseason awards received by members of the Holden Lady Eagles have been announced by Holden girls basketball head coach Todd Shanks following the season which ended with the Lady Eagles basketball team clinching a district title and advancing to the sectional round of the Class 3 state tournament.
Three Lady Eagle players have received both all-district and all-conference recognition with Lady Eagle senior guard Addy Campbell chosen as district player of the year.
Eight Lady Eagle players have been recognized by the Missouri River Valley Conference for their work in the classroom during the season.
All-MRVC-East
Lady Eagle senior guard Addy Campbell has been named to the All-MRVC-East First Team.
Lady Eagle senior center Lilly Carver and sophomore guard Karleigh Tevis have been recognized as Honorable Mention All-MRVC-East players.
Lady Eagle players named as Academic All-MRVC-East performers include seniors Campbell, Carver, and Brooke Gimmarro; juniors Brionna Johnson and Arionna Johnson, sophomores Tevis and Bella Haggard, and freshman Audrey Enneking.
All-District
Lady Eagle senior players Addy Campbell and Lilly Carver, and sophomore Karleigh Tevis have been named to the Class 3, All-District 13 Team.
Campbell was named as the Class 3, District 13 Player of the Year.
KMZU Dream Team
Lady Eagle senior guard Addy Campbell and sophomore guard Karleigh Tevis have been named to the KMZU Dream Team by the KMZU Radio Station in Carrollton.
The Lady Eagles basketball team ended the season with an overall record of 9-19, and a record of 3-7 in MRVC-East games.
The Lady Eagles ended the regular season schedule with an MRVC-East road win against Higginsville by the score of 42-41 Thursday, Feb. 19.
In Class 3, District 13 play at Cole Camp High School Monday, Feb. 23 – Friday, Feb. 27, the Holden girls basketball team defeated Windsor in the quarterfinals, won against Cole Camp in the semifinals, and secured the district title with a win against Stover by the final score of 49-43. The district title represented the first district championship for the Holden Lady Eagles basketball program since the 2008-09 season.
The season came to a close for the Holden girls basketball team with a loss to Lone Jack in the sectional round of the Class 3 state tournament in a game played at Santa Fe High School Monday, Mar. 2.
