Holden Boys Basketball Team Enters Cougar Classic As Dark Horse

The Holden boys basketball team enters the F&C Bank Cougar Classic Tournament at Crest Ridge High School as the No. 8 seed with tournament games being played Tuesday, Jan. 23 through Saturday, Jan. 27.

The host team Crest Ridge Cougars await the Holden boys basketball team in the first round of the tournament with the two teams facing off on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8:45 p.m. With a win, the Holden boys basketball team will face the winner of the first-round game between No. 4 seed Lutheran (KC) and No. 5 seed Sherwood on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7:15 p.m. With a first-round loss, the Eagles will face the loser between Lutheran (KC) and Sherwood on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Other first-round games in the Cougar Classic feature No. 2 seed Lexington taking on No. 7 seed Concordia on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 5:45 p.m., and No. 3 seed Knob Noster matching up against No. 6 seed Leeton on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

All boys bracket semifinal games in the Cougar Classic are scheduled to be played on Thursday, Jan. 25.

The boys consolation and seventh-place games are scheduled to be played on Friday, Jan. 26. The seventh-place game is set to begin at 5:45 p.m. The consolation game is set to begin at 8:45 p.m. on Friday.

First-place and third-place games on the boys bracket are scheduled to be played on Saturday, Jan. 27 with the third-place game set for 2:30 p.m., and the first-place game scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
