Orvan Lee Summers, 75 of Holden, MO passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, November 6, 2023.
He was born on September 3, 1948, to Orvan A. and Opal (McCulley) Summers in Mena, Arkansas.
The family moved to Harrisonville, Missouri where he graduated from high school.
After graduation, Lee, as he was best known, went to college for nursing and worked at the State Hospital in Kansas for some time.
Deciding nursing was not for him, he went into the trucking business. He worked for Thomason Trucking in Oklahoma until his retirement.
Lee met Lois (Johnson-Langston) and they married in September of 2005. They made their home in Holden to be closer to family.
Lee loved to hunt and fish and channel cat fishing in Arkansas was his favorite past time. He also worked on computers, cell phones and other electronics in his spare time.
Lee had a lengthy battle with COPD but is now at rest with the Lord. His family and friends will miss him greatly but know that he is at peace and no longer in pain.
Preceding Lee in death are his parents.
Surviving his passing are: his wife Lois, of the home; sons Matt (Becky) Langston of Holden, MO, and Mark Langston of New Orleans, LA; daughters Nikki Summers, Shawna Summers of St. Joseph, MO, Lisa Langston of Independence, MO, and Lori Wiltz of Warrensburg, MO; brother Duane (Tracey) Summers of Harrisonville, MO; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
The family has chosen no services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 123 W. Kansas Ave, Independence, MO 64050 in Lee’s name.
