Barbara Louise Wilkey
Barbara Louise Wilkey, age 77 of Kingsville, MO, passed away Friday August 08, 2023, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
She was born June 25, 1946, to the late James Land and Mary South (Steward) in Marathon, OH, the oldest of 10 children.
She graduated high school from Northwestern in Newtonsville, Ohio. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Lyndel Wilkey, and they spent the next six decades together.
Barbara worked as a dietary aid in several nursing homes over the years. She enjoyed writing and shared that joy in her diary, memoirs, and letters. Barbara was a member of the Enon Baptist Church and had a special place in her heart for the children’s ministry.
Barbara had a sweet caring soul and was beautiful inside and out. She will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were: her father, James Land; mother, Mary South; daughter, Charlotte Lou Elsea.
Surviving her passing are: husband, Lyndel, of the home; and son, Tony Wilkey, of Laguna Vista, TX.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Enon Baptist Church, in Pittsville, MO, with Pastor Travis Webb officiating.
Interment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 13512 MO 13 Business, Lexington, MO 64067. Pallbearers included Roger Elsea, Jackson Elsea, Tony Wilkey, Larry Bell, Don Slone, and Lloyd Sisk.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Enon Baptist Church Children’s Ministry are suggested.
