Holden Track And Field Teams Compete In Meets At Richmond And Boonville

The Holden high school track and field teams competed in meets at both Richmond High School, and Boonville High School last week.
Listed below are the athletes from Holden who turned in top-three finishes at the meets.
Richmond Meet
The track teams traveled to Richmond High School for the Hoot Middleton Invitational Meet on Tuesday, April 12.
Lady Eagle Kia Harmon turned a first-place finish in the long jump, a second-place finish in the high jump, and took a third-place finish in the 100m dash. Harmon won the long jump with a distance of distance of 4.58m.
Marah Klover placed first in the high jump with a height of 1.57m.
Liz Stout took second place in the shot put with a distance of 11.21m.
The Lady Eagle 4x400m relay team composed of Klover, Izzy Guinn, Rachel Wamsley, and Gracie Carver placed third on the day with a season-best time of 4:35.66.
Tyler Hankins captured the Eagle boys team’s top placing with a first-place finish in the pole vault. Hankins cleared 2.99m to win the event.
Hurdler Masyn Powell placed third in the 110m hurdles by clocking a time of 16.79 seconds.
Boonville Meet
At the Jack McCush Invitational Meet at Boonville High School on Thursday, April 14, Marah Klover earned the Lady Eagles team’s lone first-place finish by clearing 1.55m in the high jump to win the event.
Jumper Kia Harmon placed second in both the high jump, and the long jump.
Pole vaulters Izzy Guinn in second place, and Elaina Young in third place finished back-to-back in the event.
Distance runner Ava Young placed third in the 3200m run with a season-best time of 14:07.69.
In throwing events, Liz Stout placed second in the shot put, and third in the javelin.
The Lady Eagles 4×200 relay team of Guinn, Kimmie Spring, Rachel Wamsley, and Clara Hernan placed 4th with a time of 2:00.54 for the girls team’s top relay performance.
For the boys team, pole vaulter Tyler Hankins earned his second first-place finish of the week by taking the top spot at Boonville with a height of 3.51m.
Sprinter Brian Johnson placed second in the 400m dash at Boonville.
Hurdler Masyn Powell clocked a season-best time of 16.07 seconds in the 110m hurdles to place third. Powell also placed third in the 300m hurdles.
The Eagle boys 4x400m relay team of Johnson, Powell, Carson Moreno, and Wally Walker turned in the boys team’s top relay finish by placing fourth in a time of 3:50.11.
The next meet for the Holden High School track and field teams is scheduled for this Saturday, April 23 at Clinton High School. Field events begin at 10 a.m. Running events begin at 10:30.
