Eagle Boys Wrestlers Compete At Butler Tournament

The Holden boys wrestling team placed ninth out of 12 teams at the Butler Wrestling Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 9.

Carson Moreno and Daylen Greene took first-place finishes in their respective weight classes on the day.

Moreno at 106 pounds collected his first-place medal with a win by fall over Knob Noster wrestler Levi Wilhelm in the first-place match.

Greene grabbed gold in the 113-pound weight class with a first-place match major decision win over Michael McCoy from Adrian.

Taking third place was 126-pound Eagle wrestler Logan Yoder.

Yoder recorded three wins by fall before losing by decision in the semifinals.

In the third-place match, Yoder won by fall over Ethan Hunter from St. Pius X (KC).

Eagle 132-pounder Kody Conard recorded a fourth-place finish on the day.

Lukas Hunt took sixth place in the 138-pound bracket.

Hunt responded to two early losses by pin by taking two back-to-back wins by pin over opponents from El Dorado Springs and Diamond.

Hunt fell to Knob Noster wrestler Nathan McDonald in the fifth-place match.

CJ Reifsteck took sixth place in the 160-pound weight class.

Also recording a sixth-place finish was Brody Bay at 220 pounds.

Chance Agcopra placed eighth in the heavyweight division.

Recording ninth-place finishes for the Eagles were 120-pounder Wally Walker, and 145-pound wrestler Lane Richardson.
