Five Kingsville Runners Take Medals At St. Mary’s Meet

Following a two-hour lightning delay, three Tiger boys runners and both of the Lady Tigers competitors collected medals at the St. Mary’s Invitational Meet held at St. Michael the Archangel High School last Saturday.

Luke Engel led the Tigers with a fifth-place finish in a time of 19:46.

Grant Engel placed eighth by clocking a time of 20:09.

Ryan Bailey picked up the boys team’s third top-35 medal with a 14th-place finish. Bailey turned in a time of 21:01.

James Hawthorne placed 47th with a time of 23:44. For the Lady Tigers, Laci Collins led the way on the mud-soaked course with a 30th-place finish, and a time of 28:26. Talitha Hart timed out at 28:54 to take the 32nd-place medal.

The next meet for the Kingsville cross country runners is this Saturday, September 12 at the Knob Noster Invitational Meet. Start time for the meet is 8 a.m.
