Lady Eagles Softball Team Receives State Championship Rings

Lady Eagles Receive State Championship Rings… The Holden Lady Eagles Class 2 State Championship softball team was presented with state championship rings during a ring ceremony held on the softball field at Holden High School Wednesday, May 13. Funds were raised through donations from area businesses and supporters of the team to purchase the rings for the Lady Eagle players. The Holden Lady Eagles softball team’s accomplishment of winning the 2025 Class 2 State Softball Tournament Championship last fall was recognized with a state championship ring ceremony held on the softball field at Holden High School Wednesday, May 13.
During the ceremony led by Holden softball head coach Jeff Smith, the players and coaches of the softball state championship team received rings in recognition of the team’s historic state championship finish to the season.
The state title finish marks the first-ever state championship for the Holden Lady Eagles softball program.
Funds for the purchase of the rings were raised through donations from local businesses and supporters of the Lady Eagles softball team.

The Holden Lady Eagles softball team finished its fall season with a record of 22-10. The team finished as conference champions with a record of 10-0 in the Missouri River Valley Conference East. The Lady Eagles won the Class 2, District 4 Tournament championship with a win over Iberia in the district first-place game. The softball team moved on in the Class 2 State Tournament to defeat New Bloomfield in the state quarterfinals. Playing in the state semifinals, Holden defeated Mid-Buchanan to move into the Class 2 Softball State Tournament State Championship Game. In the state championship game, the Lady Eagles defeated South Harrison by the final score of 4-1 Saturday, Nov. 1 to close out the softball team’s historic season.
