Joyce A. Rinne

 

Joyce A. Rinne, 86 of Holden, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Holden Manor Care Center.

Joyce Aleen Covey was born October 31, 1938, in Higginsville, Missouri, the youngest daughter of Roy Covey and Eula M. (Newland) Covey.

She graduated from Higginsville High School, Class of 1957.

She was united in marriage to Weston Albert “Wes” Rinne on November 17, 1957, in Higginsville. In 1969, the couple moved to Holden.

Joyce was employed with Missouri Public Service from 1982 until retiring in 1995. She began working at the Bank of Holden in 1995 and retiring in 2004.

Joyce was an election volunteer for several years. She was also an officer with Holden United Methodist Women’s group.

She bowled for 49 years and also enjoyed playing cards, namely Bridge and Pitch. She was also a big sports fan, namely George Brett.

Survivors include four daughters: Terry Callahan (Darrell) of Holden MO; Julie Stout (David) of Kingsville, MO; Karen Rigdon (Danny) of Odessa, MO and Vickie Elkins (Rex) of Holden, MO; 10 Grandchildren: Shawn Callahan (Stephanie); Tonya Mallinson (BJ); Stoney Stout; Dustin Stout (Kelly); Jeremy Stout; Katherine Alvarez (Edgar); Deanna Rigdon; Jake Bryant (Haileigh); Clayton Bryant (Marley) and Bailee Thullesen (Andrew).  18 Great Grandchildren:  Cooper, Peyton and Makena Callahan; Parker, Carson and Berkley Mallinson; Casey Schnakenburg (Jordan); Brady, Kylie and Glenn Stout; Jackson Magargee; Chase and Annistyn Stout; Santiago and Ari Alvarez; Ivie, Nora and Briar Bryant and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her three loving sisters, Marjorie Meinershagen, Maxine Steffens and Delores Dodson and their spouses, son-in-law: Tony Bryant and two nieces: Denise Dodson and Donna Reid.

In honor of our beloved Mom, we kindly ask that guests wear bright and cheerful colors to her service. She was full of spirit, light, and joy. We would love to celebrate her life in the same way she lived it.

Funeral Services were Friday, October 3 at the Holden United Methodist Church with Rev. L. David Mortensen officiating.

Interment followed at Medford Cemetery, located south of Holden.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Holden United Methodist Church or Three Rivers Hospice.
