She was born Friday, September 5, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Ferman Raines and the late Willis “Billie” Jones Thompson. After her parents were separated, she was also raised by her stepfather, Russell Thompson

During her youth at Palacious high school in Palacious, Texas, Nancy worked at a local shrimp house. While working there, she met her future husband, Luther Scott. The two of them would end up married for forty-four years and had seven children together.

During her life, Nancy had several jobs as she was busy with the large family. She was a homemaker, worked at Jimmy’s Grocery Store in Blairstown, MO and retired from the Holden Manor as a Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor. Nancy also owned and operated her own resale store for a while.

She liked going to drive-in movies and spending time at the lake. In her spare time, she loved to garden and bake. She had her two chihuahuas “Teko and Binks” who she enjoyed as much as her family.

She enjoyed music; some of her favorite artists were Elvis, Loretta Lynn, Randy Travis and George Straight to name a few. She also enjoyed watching a good western movie or tv show.

As the mother of seven children and a larger extended family. it’s no wonder that Nancy loved holidays with her family and the amount of food and fun she had with them.

She truly loved her entire family. Nancy’s spirit may be gone, but her love and devotion for each other will live on in those who loved and knew her.
