Mary Kathryn “Kate” Gross

Mary Kathryn “Kate” Gross, 81 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away Thursday evening, December 26, 2024 at the Estoria Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, MO.

She was born December 11, 1943 in Warrensburg, MO, the daughter of Lester Walter Ramey and Pearl Audrey (Curnutt) Ramey.
She married Norman E. Gross on September 14, 1991 in Washington, and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2016.
Kate was employed as a secretary with the Honeywell Corporation, Sherwood School District and The Boeing Company.
She was a member of the Woods Chapel Church in Lee’s Summit, where she found great joy in volunteering her free time to her church and church family.

She was a graduate of Holden High School in Holden, MO, and was a long time community leader with 4-H.
Surviving are two sons, Shane Gretzinger (Megan), Urich, MO and John Gretzinger (Emily), Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Amy Swanson (Russell), Lathrop, MO; eight grandchildren, Jessica Swanson, Sarah Swanson, Reagan Gretzinger, Caroline Gretzinger, Henry Gretzinger, Ramey Gretzinger, Kaley Gretzinger and Wil Gretzinger; one brother, Robert “Bob” Ramey (Alice), Odessa, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Norman, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William “Bill” Ramey.

Memorial services were held Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.

The family received friends prior to the service. Interment was in the Englewood Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to The Ronald McDonald House, Woods Chapel United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. These donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
