Doris Jean Raber

Doris Jean Raber, 92 of Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at Holden Manor Care Center.

Doris was born July 14, 1932 in Holden, Missouri the daughter of Joe and Ona Mae (Hoover) Walters.

She graduated from Holden High School, Class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Sam Raber in January of 1977.
Doris had 65 years of service with Farmers & Commercial Bank.

She was a member of DAR, PEO and VFW, Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Holden United Methodist Church, where she was a member of United Methodist Women.

Doris also volunteered at the Warrensburg Hospital. She was a wonderful seamstress and she loved her many travels with Sam. She was also well known by her family for “The Grandma Look!”

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Sam; sister: JoAnn Meek; children: Jim Gudde (Kay), Sherri Christian (Garland), Jennifer Adams, Julie Getz and Catherine Ray; 12 grandchildren: Tracey Van Meter, Brandon Gudde, (Gabrielle); Michael Christian (Danelle), Katy Stewart (Kevin), Sara Carter (Kit), Phillip Gudde (Casie), Courtney Rog (Chris), Kyle Hanna, Jeremy Flaspohler, Jason Flaspohler, Mattie Wilson (Matt) and Mitchell Williams (Shannon); 23 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Simmermon; son, Brian Gudde; son, Russell Raber; great grandson, Brian Ray Van Meter; son-in-law, John Adams and grandson-in-law, Jay Van Meter.

Funeral Services were Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Holden United Methodist Church, with Pastor L. David Mortenson officiating. Interment followed at the Holden Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
