Dale Corkran


Dale Corkran, 89 years old, of Holden, Missouri, passed away in his home on September 1, 2024.

Dale was born June 15, 1935, the son of Leonard and Lois (West) Corkran.

Dale spent much of his childhood learning from his extended family on their farms.  He graduated in 1953 from Holden High School.

Dale was united in marriage to, Katherine Truninger, on February 9, 1956.  The couple made their home in Holden, where they raised their two children, Dennis and Kathleen.

Dale worked at Stahl’s Specialty Company for 42 years.  He did sawing, buffing, and relief work in the Foundry.  He was a Foreman, General Supervisor, and Processing Manager.

Dale and Katherine enjoyed the farm life with family, neighbors, and friends.

Dale was loved and appreciated as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, farmer, and family member to the Corkran, Truninger, Eissler, and West families.

Dale was a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church of Holden, MO.

Dale was lovingly referred to as Gramps by his grandchildren and Great Gramps by his great-grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife Katherine, her siblings John Truninger and Barbra Henry, his parents, parents-in-law, and brother, Donnie Corkran.

Survivors include brother, Jerry Corkran, and sister, Linda Smithson; son, Dennis (Susan), daughter, Kathleen (Rusty) Kephart; grandchildren, Christine Corkran, Jacqueline Lois (Ryan) Florence, April Nicole (Mikel) Ruder, Kevin R.C. (Meghan) Kephart; great-grandchildren, Kohen James and Kyle DeAtley Florence, Hart R C and Jack M Ruder, Levi Russell Corkran and Katherine Lynn Kephart; sister-in-law, Donna (Jim) Morris and brother-in-law, Bill (Susie) Truninger. Uncle Dale to several nieces and nephews who he adored.

Visitation was at The First Baptist Church in Holden on Saturday, September 7, 2024, followed by funeral services.
Interment was held at the Holden Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Holden Cemetery Association or First Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Campbell-Cast Funeral Home.
