Wallace Briscoe Fitzgerel

Wallace Briscoe “B” Fitzgerel, 87 of Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Wallace was born September 17, 1937 in Holden, the son of Wallace N. Fitzgerel and Gertrude M. (Briscoe) Fitzgerel.
He was a graduate of Holden High School, Class of 55. He was united in marriage to Beatrice E. Simmermon on August 1, 1959 in Holden.
He was drafted into the U. S. Army. “B” was stationed in Arlington, VA and served as a MP under President Kennedy. “B” was a lifelong Holden resident.
“B” worked his entire life on the family farm and enjoyed helping the neighbors in his farming community. Shortly following his discharge from the military, he became Plant Manager at Comfort Equipment Company in Holden. He was co-owner of the Holden Locker in the 70’s and 80’s and later in life worked at Heiman True Value.
“B” was an avid sports fan. He also loved sitting on his porch watching hummingbirds, listening to old country music and waiting for his next visitor. B was affectionately known as Papa by his grandchildren and their friends.
Survivors include his three children: Pam Wood (John); Wally Fitzgerel (Linda) and Amy Stanfield (Tye) all of Holden, MO; three grandchildren: Alivia Stanfield, Brock Stanfield and Grace Fitzgerel and a great grandson: Briscoe Tayler Brown. He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Brown.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beatrice, both parents and a sister, Pat Borer.
Graveside services for family will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4 at the Holden Cemetery. A gathering for friends and family at the Fitzgerel family farm will follow immediately after the burial and into the evening.
Pallbearers are: Brock Stanfield, Dave Bruns, Nolan Brown, Rex Elkins, Jon Dean, Todd Bryant, Aaron Guengerich, and Gerald Pemberton. Honorary pallbearers are: Lyle Quick, Rob Bruns, Rob Chisler, Joe Shockley, Lynn Gudde, Leland Stowell, Mark Klossen and Jack Phelps.
Memorial contributions may be left to the First Christian Church in Holden.
