Lawrence Alvin Daily
Lawrence Alvin Daily went home to be with the Lord, on September 11, 2024, after a long battle of kidney disease. He was born in Springfield, Missouri on November 21, 1941.
He lived a very humble farm life. Born the fourth of 10 children. He moved to Kansas City to start in the workforce right after high school.
He was always a social butterfly and worked in most of the departments at Hallmark Cards where he found his passion in the painting department. He eventually retired from there.
Throughout the years he always worked multiple jobs which included being a machinist and maintenance man.
If he wasn’t working at his job, he would be working on his farm. He loved to stay busy and over the years he farmed many crops, raised hogs and was truly a jack of all trades. If he didn’t know how to fix something, he said it would come to him in a dream. He loved to tinker and make new things. He always had some kind of car project going on.
He and his wife Diana loved to flip houses and at one point had many rental properties. He also converted two grain bins into a house. He was an adrenaline junkie. He loved to fly his power parachute. Even after a pretty serious crash that landed him in the ICU he still got back up in the air after he healed.
He always had such a positive outlook on life and loved to chat with anyone he came across. He always gave the best advice and ended every life lesson with, “You gotta have logic and reason.” I think that quote will stay with many people for years to come. He will be truly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford & Lucy Daily, brothers Charles, Johnnie, Bruce & Brice Daily.
He is survived by his wife Diana Hutchings; Siblings Margaret (Roscoe) Hoskins, Archie (Chris), Wayne (Carolyn), Wanda (John) Kluessendorf, Hazel (Harold) Thurmond, son; Stanley (Kathy) Daily, daughter Dana (Donald) Haley. His bonus family included: Stepsons Phillip Hutchings (Aracelis), Clayton Hutchings (Jasmyn), Stepdaughters Sara Sizemore (Josh), Belinda Hutchings, Linda Kathrine (Chris), several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
