Dolores Jean O’Kelly

Dolores Jean O’Kelly , 82, of Holden, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 08, 2024, at her home in Holden, Missouri.

She was born on Thursday, November 6, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Ralph and Dorothy (Noah) Wright.

Dolores grew up in Kansas City, Mo. along with her brother Ralph and two sisters Patsy and Mary. She attended Immanuel High School in Kansas City, Mo.

She married her husband Roy L. O’Kelly in 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Kansas City, MO. and together they raised two children: a son Roy “Philip” O’Kelly and a daughter Laura O’Kelly.

Dolores or “Lori” as she was known by family and friends, was a homemaker who was a very caring and nurturing mother and grandmother. She had a love for cats especially her cat “Pudge.” She loved exercising, walking and watching old television shows. She was proud to say that she once was kissed by actor James Cann while out in California. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and got to see him live in concert.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents Ralph and Dorothy Wright, her husband Roy of 43 years who passed March 31, 2015, her brother, Ralph Wright Jr. and grandchild Miracle O’Kelly Bever.

She is survived by her son, Roy “Philip” O’Kelly of Kansas City, MO., daughter, Laura O’Kelly of Holden, MO, sisters: Patsy (Jim) Warriner of Holden, MO, Mary (Doug) Crawford of Cedar Creek, MO.; son-in-law: Kristopher Bever of Holden, MO., grandchildren: Nicholas O’Kelly Bever and Illithyia O’Kelly Bever.

Graveside services will be held on Friday August 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, Missouri 64037.
