Martin Allen Wright

Martin Allen Wright, 64 of Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.

Martin was born August 1, 1958 in Mexico, Missouri, the first child of Kester and Connie (Hobbs) Wright. He and his parents moved to Holden in the spring of 1962, calling Holden his home since that time.

He was baptized and welcomed into Christian fellowship, at First Baptist Church in Holden, as a teenager.

During his younger years, Marty enjoyed fishing with his dad, pheasant hunting trips to Iowa and many summer weekends water skiing on the Lake of the Ozarks.

Graduating from Holden High School in 1976, Marty would go on to work at Holden Manufacturing, Western Electric and later, he worked as a skilled cabinet maker.

It was his gift of crafting beautiful toys from wood that he will be most lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews. These special gifts are now being handed down to his great nieces and nephews.

For the past several years, Marty has resided at Holden Manor and was grateful for the care he was provided, all those years, by their staff.

Survivors include his loving mother, Connie Wright; sister, Kathy Delatte (Joe); and brothers, Chris Wright and Steve Wright (Lori). He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews. Marty was preceded in death by his father, Kester.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Pastor Tom Couch of New Hope Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Holden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, one hour prior to service, Wednesday at Williams.

Special thanks to the ICU staff at Lee’s Summit Medical Center for their care of Marty in his final days.
