Claude Allen Bradbury
Claude Allen Bradbury, 84, formerly of Holden, Missouri passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday May 19, 2023, at his home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
He was born the only child of Claude Thomas Bradbury and Peggy Louise (Clapper) Bradbury in Holden, Missouri on August 1, 1938.
He attended and graduated from Holden High School and soon thereafter married Patricia Ann Hampton. The couple recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Three children were born to this wonderful marriage, Mike, Debra, and Peggy. Claude was an outstanding carpenter and started building homes all around the Holden and Kansas City area.
The family moved to Florida in the late ’70s and Claude spent the next 21 years building homes in and around Florida including several in South Carolina.
Claude and Pat moved back to Missouri where Claude continued his craft of building cabinetry up until his passing.
He was a devoted member of the Community of Christ Church and served as a very active Elder for many years. Claude was also active in the Lay Clergy in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
He absolutely loved being a father and grandfather and his grandkids held a very special place in his heart. Claude will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving his passing are his loving wife Pat, of the home; son Mike Bradbury, wife Kelly of Florida; daughter Peggy Couch of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Madelyn Bradbury, Micah Bradbury, Wyatt Murdock, Zachary Selz and Daniel Couch; special sisters-in-law Lorraine Rhoades, husband John and Nancy Jo Jennings, husband George; and many Bradbury family cousins.
Preceding Claude in death were his parents, Claude and Peggy Bradbury; daughter Debra Ann Selz; infant grandson, Levi, son of Mike and Kelly Bradbury.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life on May 27, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Community of Christ Church in Holden.
In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests donations to the Community of Christ Church of Holden, (401 S. Pine St. Holden, MO 64040) in Claude’s name.
