Jack Dempsey Eaton

Jack Dempsey Eaton, 91 of Holden, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home.

Jack was born February 18, 1932 in Iconium, Missouri, son of Jesse Sanford Eaton and Ruth Ann (Anglin) Eaton.
He was raised in Iconium. He worked briefly at the Kansas City Stockyards.

Following the stockyards, Jack was employed with Manor Bread at Westport, where he met the love of his life, Jean. He was united in marriage to Doris Jean Wilhoit on September 26, 1953 in Independence.

Jack had resided near Holden for the past 33 years. He was a union baker by trade. Upon retired from the Bakery and Confectionary Union, he went to work for Sheffield Nut & Bolt in Kansas City, from where he would retire.

Jack enjoyed field trials with beagles, tractor pulls, but mostly, faithfully attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events throughout the years. In retirement, he loved watching and feeding Johnson County humming birds. Jack was known for making the most amazing and beautiful rolls.

Survivors include two daughters: Cynthia Heishman of Independence, MO and Connie Johnson (Daniel) of Warsaw, MO; two sons: Craig Eaton (Kelly) of Warsaw, MO and Curtis Eaton (Carrie) of Archie, MO; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; two sisters: Merle and Louise and four brothers: George, Frank, Bill and Jesse. Rest Easy Pops, Love You More!

Funeral Service was Friday, March 24 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Pastor Roger Deloach officiating.
Interment followed at the Holden Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Johnson, Brian Harms, Kevin Meyer, Drue Barton, Jackson Eaton and Judd Harms.

The family received friends, one hour prior to service, at Williams.
