Roberta Pearl Penrose

Roberta Pearl Penrose, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday January 3, 2023.

She was born in Holden, Missouri on Saturday July 9, 1927, to Tom and Mildred Bradbury.

Roberta graduated from Holden High School in 1944. In 1945 she married James Penrose, and they shared 68 years together before his passing in 2013. The couple had two children, Ron and Genese.

After raising their children Roberta and Jim moved back to her family farm in Holden. She restored the Bradbury home and turned it into Pop’s Little House, an antique/gift shop. After retiring fully, they moved to Independence, where she stayed until moving to The Village on Mission in Prairie Village, KS 2 years ago. She was a beautiful lady who loved to visit new places and see new things. Roberta will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Ron Penrose and his wife Mary of Prairie Village, KS; daughter, Genese Larson of Independence, MO; sister, Norma Eubank of Lamoni, IA; three grandsons, Jeff Penrose, Jason Moore and Bryan Moore; five great grandchildren, Max Penrose, Lucy Penrose, Nevaeh Moore, Reese Moore and Quinn Moore.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas and Mildred Bradbury; husband, James Penrose; sisters, Marian Young, Dorothy Goodman and June Scrutchfield.

A graveside service was planned for Monday January 9, 2023, at 11am at the Fairview Cemetery in Holden, MO.

In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Ascend Hospice of Kansas, 4550 W 109th St, Overland Park, KS 66207.
