Mary Elizabeth Tyler
Mary Elizabeth Tyler (Batye), 66 of Appleton City, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at her home.
She was born Monday, July 2, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late John Batye and the late Martha (Dorrell) Batye. Mary grew up in an Air Force family and traveled all over with her family. She was a graduate of East High School in Kansas City, MO. She married Charles Tyler on February 22, 1975. They spent 47 years together until his passing on August 5, 2022.
Her work experience included; VA Receptionist and data entry for the Internal Revenue Service. Mary was very active with her church, Northside Assembly of God in Holden Missouri. She enjoyed baking, traveling, quilting, thrift stores and antiques. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She traveled often with family and enjoyed that time together. Family and church were always the most important to her. She’ll be missed by all.
Surviving are one son, Craig Tyler of Kansas City; two daughters, Tami (Galyn) Aversman of Appleton City, MO and Jennifer (Edward) Dismang of La Monte, MO; one brother, Wayne (Kathlyn) Batye of Independence, MO; one sister, Marsha (Terry) Gerth of Moore, OK; four grandchildren, Christopher Flathers, Jamiee (Kody) Self, Kenny Meierer, Michael Aversman; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Tyler; two brothers, Ronald Batye and Ricky Batye; and one sister, Sandra Snodgrass.
The family received friends Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Northside Assembly of God Church, 201 W. 2nd St. Holden, Missouri.
A funeral service followed.
Interment was held at in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Casket bearers: Galyn Aversman, Mike Aversman, Chris Flathers, Kenny Meierer, Kody Self, Adam Tubbs.
