Harriet “Hat” Carolyn Braun, 78 of Holden, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
She was born on Thursday October 5, 1944, to Ernie and Wilma (Ridenhour) Arnold in Holden.
Hat as she was affectionately known, graduated from Holden High School, and stayed in Holden her whole life.
She married Jim Braun in 1973 and they shared the next 49 years together. Hat worked in several places in town including Holden Sundries, Bank of Holden, Holden Elementary and most recently at Tilden Quick Tire and Lube.
She loved all her careers of service to the Holden community. Hat had a huge heart and never met a stranger. She had a smile that could light a room and her passing will leave a huge void in everyone’s heart. Hat will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving her passing are: her husband, Jim Braun of the home; son Russ Braun, wife Danya of Lone Jack; daughters, Shelli Tilden, husband Charley of Holden and Kelli Dilley; grandchildren, Tyler Tilden, Alison Braun, and Zachary Braun.
Preceding Hat in death are her parents Ernie and Wilma Arnold and brother Steve Arnold.
The family will receive friends at New Life Fellowship Church in Holden, Missouri on Saturday January 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Michael Wakeman officiating.
