Bernard J. “Bud” Lohe

Bernard J. “Bud” Lohe, 84 of Holden, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit.

Bud was born January 30, 1938 in Holden, Missouri the son of John Francis Lohe and Lena Irene (Barnett) Lohe.

He graduated from De Salle Military Academy in Kansas City in 1955.

He was united in marriage to June F. Pfeiffer on November 5, 1955 in Kansas City. The couple resided in the Kansas City and Lee’s Summit areas prior to moving to Johnson County in 1970.

Bud was a heavy equipment operator. He was a 64-year member of Operator’s Local #101. He was also an operator for Charles Garney Construction prior to starting Bud Lohe & Sons Construction Company. Bud’s hobbies included gardening, hunting and mowing.

Survivors include two daughters: Kathy Denney and Pam Guinn (Ted) all of Holden; four sons, James Lohe of Holden, Michael Lohe (Shari) of Topeka, KS, David Lohe (Sherri) and Andy Lohe (Sarah), all of Holden; 13 grandchildren, Kevin Guinn (Trisha) of Holden, Dan Guinn (Carri) of Holden, Julie Murray (Pat) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Laurie Lane (Matt) of Warrensburg, MO, Brian Denney (Jessica) of Holden, Emily Jo Denney of Blue Springs, MO, Lauren Liashenko (Greg) of Lindenwold, NJ, Michael Paul Lohe of Topeka, KS, Jonathan Lohe of Manhattan, KS, Devin Lohe, Ashley Lohe, Bailey Thomason and Emma Lohe, all of Holden, 22 great grandchildren; Patrick Guinn, Taylor Guinn, Tyler Guinn, Jack Murray, Ellie Murray, Karlie Knowles, Kody Knowles, Kelsie Knowles, MacKenzie Denney, Brooke Denney, Damen Lane, Kyndal Lane, Kynlee Denney, Barrett Denney, Meadow Denney, Edalyn Denney, Alyssa Lohe, Zylan Lohe, LeSai Lohe, George Liashenko, Oliver Liashenko and Frederick Liashenko, sister; Diana Hoss of Kansas City, MO, sister-in-law; Mildred Huntoon of Independence, MO and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, June; daughter; Jeanie Lohe, two sisters; Margie Trueblood and Mary Van Meter, and grandson; Eric Thomason.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holden, with Father Curt Vogel officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, immediately followed by a Rosary Service at 10:30 a.m.

Memorial Contributions may be left to the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Assoc.
