Shirley Hobbs
Shirley passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at Ignite Rehabilitation Center in Blue Springs.
She was born August 31, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Robert and Bertha (Robison) Whitaker.
She graduated from Loretto Academy in Kansas City and received her BS in Education from Central Missouri State Teacher’s College in Warrensburg.
Shirley was united in marriage to Kenneth LeRoy Hobbs on June 8, 1969 in Kingsville.
Following his death in 1999, she moved to Harrisonville in 2003.
She had resided in Lee’s Summit since 2005.
Shirley was an elementary School Teacher as well as a Reading Specialist.
Upon retiring from teaching, she was employed at Price Chopper for several years.
She loved crocheting and reading.
Her hobbies included dog obedience training.
Shirley was a longtime member of the Kingsville Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her daughter: Robin Webb (Eric) of Lee’s Summit, MO; two grandchildren: Aubrey Webb of Lee’s Summit, MO and Jada Hobbs of Buffalo, MO; sister: Elaine Tinney (Erik) of Belleville, IL; two sisters-in-law: Leona Hobbs of Kingsville, MO and Verlene Hobbs of Cabool, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parents and her son, Daniel Hobbs.
Funeral Services: will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Pastor Alan Harvey of Kingsville Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.
Interment will follow at the Kingsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lauris Johnson, Greg LaRocque, Cody Hobbs, John Procasky, Justin Allee and Jeff Hobbs.
The family will receive friends, one hour prior to service, Thursday at the chapel.
