Homer Carrol Jarman

Homer Carroll Jarman, 88, of Centerview, Missouri, passed away Friday July 22, 2022.

He was born on April 23, 1934 to the late Eugene Carroll and Enna Elizabeth (Windsor) Jarman.

A lifelong resident of the Columbus area, he attended a one-room schoolhouse there from 1st through 6th grades.

He graduated in 1952 from College High School in Warrensburg on the campus of Central Missouri State College and attended Central Missouri State College.

He farmed all his life and also worked as a typesetter for the Holden Progress, ran the press at the Daily Star Journal, and worked for 40 years as a machinist at Bendix.

He was president of his FFA chapter his senior year.

He was also a 4-H Club member and as a young adult, he participated in the International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE) program in 1956 where he traveled to Costa Rica and lived with host families who were engaged in farming/agriculture for six months.

While there he met the love of his life, Marjorie Elisabeth Deliens.

They were married in San Jose, Costa Rica on October 23, 1957.

Homer was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church, Centerview, MO and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).

He will be missed by his loving and devoted wife, Marjorie Jarman, of the home; daughters Nancy White and husband Mark of Cherokee, KS; Paulette Jarman of Centerview, MO; Alice Jarman of Warrensburg, MO; and son, Eric Jarman and wife Shanda of Centerview, MO; grandchildren, Seth (Lisbeth), John (Maya), Timothy (Megan), and Marie White, Cortez Jarman, Mikhayla (Trenton) Courtwright, Abigail (Trenton) Loggins, Grant Dempsey, Wesley, Park and Jeremiah Jarman, and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, MO., Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM.

There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, MO.
