Kingsville District Bids Farewell To Lorna Warren

Lorna Warren, who has served as superintendent for the Kingsville R-I School District for the past five years, announced earlier this year that she will be retiring, effective July 1.

Warren takes with her into the next chapter of her life many memories of her years in education, reflecting on a career that spanned 33 years.

She began her long career as a middle school PE teacher in Higginsville, a position she held for 15 years.

She also coached high school volleyball, jr. high and high school basketball, and boys and girls track.

She has spent the last 18 years in the Kingsville District, serving first as K-12 principal for 13 years, and the last five as superintendent.

She says her favorite position throughout her many years in education was when she was principal at Kingsville.

When asked what she will miss the most now that retirement is upon her, Warren commented, “I will miss the students and staff.

I have really enjoyed my time here in Kingsville. “I have enjoyed working with the students and staff and helping both the students accomplish their goals, and working with teachers to help them become better educators.”
