Jane Leigh Phillips Christenson

Jane Leigh Phillips Christenson, 89 of Blue Springs, MO. Went home to our Lord June 10, 2022.

Jane was born November 27, 1932, in Kansas City, MO.

She was the daughter of Bert and Pearl (Andrews) Phillips.

She graduated from Holden high school, class of 1951.

Jane married Fred Christenson on September 7, 1952, in Holden MO.

She was a member of the Community of Christ Church and held the office of Elder.

She worked at the University of Kansas and Hercules Powder Co. to put Fred through college.

She was a homemaker until their children were in school.

She worked for the Janesville School district in the Children’s Reading Readiness program and school library until she retired.

She loved to entertain and invite friends to her home.

Jane volunteered at church, Holden Hope Coalition and the food pantry.

After her stroke in 2017 Jane and Fred became residents of the Parkway in Blue Springs.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Pearl Phillips; stepmother, Blanch Phillips; brothers, Ed and Bert; Sister, Anne; son, Mike Christenson of Blue Springs; and daughter, Leigh Anne Carson of Prairie Grove, AR.

She is survived by her husband Fred; sons, Mark (Cyndi) Christenson of Independence MO; Tim (Kathy) Christenson of Blue Springs, MO; and Burbank, CA.; daughter in law, Terry Christenson of Independence MO.; son-in-law, Ray Carson of Prairie Grove AR; sister-in-law Doris Christenson Enke of Lee’s Summit MO.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

We miss her but will continue to share what she has blessed us with, LOVE.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday the 18th of June 2022, officiated by Warren and Marsha Stowell at the Community of Christ Church, 401 S. Pine St. Holden Mo.

Interment will be followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Holden.
