Holden High School has a very active FFA Chapter and they celebrated FFA Week all last week – February 19-26, along with hundreds of thousands of other chapter members across the country.

The FFA organization strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

The HHS FFA Chapter participated in different activities all week, which included the following – Sunday – FFA students kicked off FFA Week by attending New Life Fellowship Church for FFA Sunday!

After the service was over, all members who attended enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Jamie’s Place. Monday – There was no school on Monday in observance of President’s Day.

National FFA Week always falls during this time as they celebrate George Washington’s birthday!

Washington is a huge inspiration for members as he was an avid agriculturalist.

Tuesday – Holden FFA members traveled north to Osborn, Missouri to tour the well-known dairy production, Shatto Milk Company, on Tuesday of FFA Week!

This tour included learning about how milk is processed, learning about dairy cattle, and getting to taste some delicious samples of milk! For Spirit Week, members dressed in camo or as a deer for Open Season Spirit Day!

Wednesday – On Wednesday, the Holden FFA Chapter Officers took a trip to Jefferson City to attend a special proclamation event put on by the Missouri Governor’s Office and Missouri Department of Agriculture.

The officers had the opportunity to hear from industry professionals about careers in agriculture and celebrate National FFA Week with fellow members!

The Spirit Day for those at school was Rockin’ and Crocin’ – Wear your favorite pair of crocs to school!

Friday – FFA members drove to Kansas City to spend the day at the Western Farm Show.

The Western Farm Show has hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest agricultural products!
