BPW Gives Council Presentation; Mayor Questioned About ARPA Funds

Holden City Council members heard a detailed presentation from the Board of Public Works (BPW) at council’s regular meeting, held February 8.

Water Superintendent Tony Lerda, on behalf of the BPW, shared information and photos of Holden’s infrastructure issues that need to be addressed.

The BPW presentation was an in-depth look at problems with the City’s infrastructure, and a request for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, which the City received from the federal government as part of the COVID pandemic recovery assistance to the individual states, cities and counties. The ARPA, signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021, provided $350 billion in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to state, local, territorial and Tribal governments.
