TED LEON AKINS

Ted Leon Akins, 72, of Warrensburg, Missouri, formerly of Holden, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at his home.

Ted was born March 1, 1949 in Holden, son of Clyde and Ruth (Giddens) Akins.

He graduated from Holden High, Class of ’67, and shortly after, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

Following his discharge from active duty, Ted moved to Latour to take care of his ailing mother.

In 2006, he moved to Oklahoma where he hauled gas.

He returned to Holden in 2009 and for the last several years, he has lived with his son in Warrensburg.

Ted loved tinkering with old cars and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his son, Clyde Akins of Warrensburg; daughter, Jackie Terrazas (Jim) of Kingsville, MO; brother, Clyde D. Akins of Wheatland, MO; two sisters, Bonnie Riffle of Latour, MO and B.K. Wurdeman of Cole Camp, MO; and four grandchildren, Cheyanne Akins, Michelle Stone, Jordan Wahl and Braedon Terrazas; and also, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Thurman.

Following cremation, no services will be scheduled at this time.
