Holden Hosting Two Halloween Special Events

Holden will be hosting a double dose of fun for Halloween this year!

The Chamber of Commerce announces there will be the traditional Downtown Trick-or-Treat for the businesses on 2nd St. to give out treats.

And there will also be the Storybook Trail at the Holden City Park for other merchants, organizations and churches to participate in.

Both events run from 5:30-7 p.m. on Halloween night – Sunday, October 31. Between 500-700 trick-or-treaters are expected.

There will be all kinds of fun stories and other activities, including a petting zoo provided by Green Meadows Alpaca Ranch, at the city park.

Other cool surprises will be in store for the kiddos, courtesy of Chad Wheat from Junk’Ems.

According to the Chamber, so many of the trick-or-treaters enjoyed the Storybook Trail last year, they decided to do it again this year, in an effort to social distance the kids.

As of last week, there were approximately 20-plus groups participating in Halloween night festivities, between the two locations.

All businesses, groups, organizations and churches are welcome and encouraged to participate in either event.

Chamber Halloween event organizer, Lynette Zimmer, is asking all those groups who are interested in getting involved to please contact her as soon as possible.

The Chamber will include them in advertisments on their Facebook event page.

You may call Lynette at 816-728-1768, or email her at lynette@mybluebirdrealestate.com.

Be sure and visit both the Downtown Trick-or-Treat event, as well as the Storybook Trail at the city park, for double the Halloween fun!
