JESSE OTTO GUDDE
Jesse Otto Gudde, 75, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his home. Jesse was born February 18, 1946 in Holden, son of Otto Henry Gudde and Ruby Ethel (York) Gudde.
He graduated from Holden High School and served in the United States Air Force.
After his military service, Jesse worked in the electrical sign industry until he retired. He was united in marriage to Frances Ann Clement on February 19, 1966 in Kansas City.
The couple resided in Kansas City and later, Kearney.
Frances preceded him in death in 1997. In 2013, Jesse returned to Holden.
He was a gifted and talented woodworker who enjoyed creating gifts for his family.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and baking delicious chocolate desserts.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelly Iseman (Andy) of Lake Winnebago, MO and Cherrie Lawhon (Don) of Kansas City, MO; son, Sean Gudde (Angela) of Kearney, MO; eight grandchildren, Lauren Berg (Patrick) of LaJunta, CO; Katie Levy (Rob) of Lee’s Summit, MO; A.J. Iseman of Lake Winnebago, MO; Colton Gudde of Kearney, MO; Mackenzie Gudde of Liberty, MO; Dawson Gudde of Kearney, MO; Wyatt Scherer of Kansas City, MO and Walker Scherer of Kansas City, MO; four great-grandchildren, Austyn Berg, Leila Berg, Merik Berg, Wrynn Gudde and another on the way; brother, Jerry Gudde (Marie); four sisters, Clara Clarke (Ted), Ethel Preator, Julia Todd (Mark), and Janet Mills (Mark); and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Levina Smith. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, October 1, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holden, with Father Curt Vogel officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, Friday at the church.
There will be a private interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holden at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Conservation Dept. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
