GARY DOUGLAS GREEN

Gary Douglas Green, 69, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at his home. Gary was born November 13, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Benny Vance Green and Nadine Etta (Klempnauer) Green.

He graduated from Turner High School in Kansas City, Kansas.

Gary served in the United States Air Force.

Following his discharge, he attended American River College in Sacramento, California.

He was united in marriage to Susanna Stacia Chant on December 31, 1983 in Kansas City, Kansas.

The couple made their home in Merriam, Kansas prior to moving to Holden in 1996.

Gary retired from Robbie Manufacturing in Lenexa in 2016.

Gary loved nature photography, canoeing, camping and bird watching.

He was also an avid guitarist.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; daughter, Sarah Brown (Robert) of Newcastle, CA; two sons, Matthew Green (Brittany) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Nathan Green (Jessica) of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Sam Brown, Ben Brown, Claire Brown, Jack Brown, Beckham Green and Alyssa Green; two brothers, Kenneth Green (Cyndi) of Shawnee, KS and Steve Green (Carol) of Merriam, KS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Fred Green.

There will be a private graveside service at the Holden Cemetery with Father Pete Savidge officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Green, Steve Green, Matthew Green, Nathan Green, Dan Miller and Robert Brown.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, in care of the Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
