CHARLES D. DISHMAN

Charles D. Dishman, 97, former engineer at Boeing, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021.

Charles was born in Holden, Missouri, on January 31, 1924. He served in the Infantry of the 86th Blackhawk Division during World War II. He married Wilma Lee Surber on May 31, 1946.

Charles is survived by his wife of 74 years, Wilma; children, Phil (Sherri) Dishman and Cheryl Bennett; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances Dishman; sisters, Mary Weir, Ona Lee Baldwin and Una Marie Reese; brother, William Dishman; and twin brother, Chester Dishman.

There will be a public viewing from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 14.

A private family service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 15.

Both the public viewing and the private service will be held at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West in Wichita, KS.

The service will be live-streamed at www.dlwichita.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church-General Fund, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202.
