WANDA SMITH
Wanda Smith, 87, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Holden, Missouri.
Wanda was born October 11, 1933 in Rossville, Kansas, daughter of Howard Patton and Mabel (Bixby) Patton.
She graduated high school in Rossville and met her soon to be husband, Dennis Smith, shortly after.
The couple was united in marriage on November 19, 1950 in Topeka, Kansas.
Wanda worked at Universal Manufacturing for many years before retiring with Dennis after his military career.
The couple resided in Kingsville for the years following.
Wanda was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, as well as an avid Bingo player, and loved to frequent Branson. Survivors include two daughters, Sondra Stephens (Jim); Dronda Dills; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mabel Patton; husband, Dennis Smith; and oldest daughter, Denise Antonello.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden, Missouri, with Pastor Michael Wakeman officiating.
Due to COVID, social distancing and facial coverings were required.
The family received friends one hour prior to service time at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden. Private interment followed at 1 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
